The Introduction of the Book (from The Whole Truth Book Inside Cover)

'I need a war'

With the world relatively stable, Nicolas Creel, a super-rich and super-powerful arms dealer, is losing money fast. And if war won't start naturally, he is more than willing to help move things along.......

Academic Anna Fischer is becoming increasingly curious about the strange twist in world events. When her boyfriend proposes, she couldn't be happier - but can she handles the truth about the man she loves?

Katie James, an award-winning journalist whose career is on the slide, will do anything to get back to the top of her profession. But can she keep her demons at bay long enough to get the story?

Shaw, a man with mysterious past, reluctantly travels the world for a multinational intelligence agency, trying to keep the world peaceful - and safe. He dreams of retirement and marriage, but, will his employers ever let him go?

This terrifying global thriller delivers all the twists and turns, emotional drama, unforgettable characters and can't put it down pacing that Baldacci fans expect - and still goes beyond anything he's written before.

My view on the book

I bought this book last year during the Big Bad Wolf massive book sale. This is the first book by David Baldacci that I've read. In this book, Baldacci writes about the Perception Management. The existence of PM in creating advantages to some but bad reputation to others. Perception Management as its name implies, is done by creating a perceptions deemed truth by the whole world. As in this case, creating a war, and manipulating two countries, China and Russia into cold war, so man like Nicolas Creel, the owner of Ares Corp, arms dealer can make trillion dollars.

Shaw, who worked with Frank, in loved with Anna Fischer    (who later got killed by Pender's man in reply to a blog created by Pender) will go into extra length, to keep the world at peace. Through an awkward encounter with Katie James, which tangle them together in this novel, they became partners in investigating this. Shaw wanted to take revenge of the death of his fiance, together they want to investigate the truth behind what the PM has created, China is funding the Red Menace, an association or movement against Russian Government for killing and torturing people, at the same time Russia is in denial of it.

David Baldacci has  created an impact at the end of the book on how Nicolas Creel was found dead by his captain and how everything went well at the end of the book. As I said, this is my first reading on David Baldacci novel and I'll definitely read his works again, a good book, and eye-opener and unexpected plots that excites every nerves in me!
